The Spring 2025 H3 Interdisciplinary Scholars will be presenting their research project on social prescribing at the Franke Honors Pinnacle Showcase.
As healthcare systems increasingly recognize the impact of social drivers of health (non-medical factors like food security, social connection and support, housing stability, and access to education and care), social prescribing programs have emerged as a promising practice to reduce costs, improve provider wellbeing, and improve health outcomes. Through social prescribing programs, healthcare practitioners connect patients to community-based services like arts programs, nature experiences, exercise groups, and volunteering to improve physical and mental wellbeing.
