Montserrat Renteria
Montserrat Renteria is a senior at the University of Arizona double majoring in Medicine and Spanish, with a minor in Portuguese. She is a Mexican-American student who is passionate about creating an equitable experience for Latino patients and other minorities in healthcare facilities, as she has seen their struggles first hand through family and friends. She has experience in volunteering at her local hospitable, as an ambassador for their annual healthcare career camp, providing guidance for teens who are looking into going into the healthcare world. At the U of A, she is the president of the HABLA club, which teaches Spanish medical terminology and informs the community about their translator rights. Her ultimate goal is to do medical terminology and nursing, striving to provide an environment where minorities feel safe to seek and receive care.
