Olman Alfaro

Olman Alfaro brings a vibrant, interdisciplinary perspective to his academic work, blending a rich background in the arts with a profound commitment to teaching. He holds a Master’s degree in Voice Performance, a PhD in Musicology, and a Certificate in College Teaching, and he is currently pursuing a second doctorate in Hispanic Literature and Cultures. His scholarly work explores the intersections of music, literature, and culture in eighteenth-century Central America, utilizing broad, interdisciplinary approaches to cultural studies.

As a dedicated educator, Olman has spent several years teaching within the Department of Spanish and Portuguese’s Basic Language Program, where he enjoys engaging students across traditional, online, and hybrid classroom environments. Beyond his traditional academic pursuits, he has also been a certified meditation and breathwork instructor since 2009. This unique background deeply informs his most recent scholarly focus: exploring human wellbeing and mental health through a humanities lens.
