Ronnie Beason, H3 Earth Grant Intern 2026-27

Hi! My name is Ronnie Beason, and I am a W.A. Franke Honors student at the University of Arizona studying Medicine with an Integrative and Practice-Focused emphasis and Chinese Language, with minors in Biochemistry and Pharmacology. I am especially interested in how culture, language, and social environments shape the way we experience health and healthcare, particularly across different communities and around the world. I hope to pursue a career in medicine that recognizes these differences and approaches each patient with curiosity, cultural understanding, and a genuine sense of connection. Outside of the classroom, I serve as a fourth-year Resident Assistant in Árbol de la Vida, and volunteer with UA Flying Samaritans where I have had the opportunity to connect with communities and perspectives beyond my own. My interest in cross-cultural experiences has also taken me to Taiwan, where I studied language and culture at Tunghai University. In my free time, I enjoy exploring music and play piano, viola, and guitar. Across these experiences, I continue to learn how much there is to understand from the people, communities, and perspectives around us.
